Illuminus: The induction is on the way!

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

There's no better feeling in the world than getting shit done, especially when you’re a mom! Often we cultivate our to-do list dreading the day we will have to complete the things on our list. I am the queen of organization, but even an organized person gets tired of being organized. I started writing Illuminus the month the Diary of Janay Wilkerson was released. I had compiled the idea for the book after hearing stories from one of my friends who was experiencing a wide array of struggles within her workplace.

She shared stories that involved sexism, racism, misogyny, and widespread prejudices regarding her being. Every time she shared her accounts with me, I became pissed off. She wondered how her constituents could look at her and not see the greatness she encompassed quietly. I started feeling the urge to form a fiction story that embodied a few of her struggles supernatural abilities, alongside the ideology of a secret society that influenced Black Excellence. Suddenly, I had a vision for a story I had never planned on creating.

I often felt the story was complete, changing my mind shortly after deciding there was much more I could do with the story. What initially came to me as a single story merged into a series. One year later, I am happy to share that my story is currently undergoing the editing process and will be available in two weeks. Illuminus is a fun, comical fiction novel that shares a new age account of supernatural intrigue that will keep young adult readers wanting more! I am so excited to share book one of this series with you.

I am also happy to announce that the Baltimore Imprint will be submitted for editing next week. My television interview will also be available soon, giving more insight into why I wrote a story about my life. The physical copies of the Baltimore Imprint will be available in about three weeks!

I look forward to sharing these stories and many more with you all. Thank you to everyone who has purchased copies, and I hope you all enjoy reading these books as much as I enjoyed writing them.
